About The Ductologist

The Ductologist is owned by the husband and wife team of Derrick and Millicent Rhoades. They both came from careers in Energy Conservation. Derrick provided consulting and technical advisory services to Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) doing contract work for the major Regulated Utilities on the West coast and other parts of the country. He is certified by the Building Performance Institute (BPI) as a Building Analyst with a Building Envelope Specialty and is Performance Tested Comfort Systems (PTCS) certified for residential duct testing. Millicent was an Administrator for an Energy Services Company for 13 years and managed programs for Utilities in Washington, Oregon, California, Texas and New York.

Derrick and Millicent saw a need for residential duct improvement and left their careers to build a company to service that need. The EPA and the WSU Energy Gurus tell us that leaking ducts are energy hogs and need to be treated. They say 4 out of 5 homes have leaking ducts.

Heating Contractors install furnaces, heat pumps, A/C, etc...which are attached to the ducts. Insulators blow insulation in attics and walls and hang insulation in crawlspaces and on the ducts. The Ductologist is somewhere in the middle where those two worlds collide; at the ducts. That is our focus and our specialty and why we are able to come prepared to do the work right the first time and at an affordable price.

THANK YOU to our past, present and future customers for making The Ductologist a growing business here in Washington State. We hope that this website has helped you learn a little about your home's ducts. Please feel free to contact us with questions or to schedule an examination.
